International Arts Weeks

The Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks, launched in 2021 to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Béla Bartók’s birth, offers a unique series of events dedicated to the arts. This festival, presented by Müpa Budapest, showcases the spirit and creativity of Bartók through various genres, including contemporary classical music, world music, jazz, dance, visual art, and pop music.

 

From April 5th to 14th, the fourth Bartók Spring will enliven Budapest’s cultural scene with award-winning productions, world-renowned performers, Hungarian and world premieres, and unprecedented collaborations. Highlights of this year’s lineup include Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo performing Prokofiev classics, Rudolf Buchbinder playing all of Beethoven’s piano concertos, and Söndörgő and the Kelemen Quartet joining forces for a unique performance.

 

Experience groundbreaking performances and innovative arrangements during the fourth Bartók Spring, featuring artists from various genres. Don’t miss Tan Dun’s monumental Buddha Passion, Rudolf Buchbinder’s Beethoven piano concerto series, and Electric Fields’ modern reinterpretation of historical compositions.

 

The festival also includes captivating dance performances, thought-provoking visual arts exhibitions, and engaging cultural events. Explore Hungarian photographers’ works at the Museum of Fine Arts, discover the life and art of Margaret of Hungary at the Hungarian National Gallery, and celebrate Poetry Day at Müpa Budapest.
