Experience the Illuminated Spectacle at:

Budapest Zoo’s Majestic Biodome

As the Lantern Festival bids farewell, the Biodome at Budapest Zoo & Botanical Gardens prepares for a remarkable metamorphosis. March brings the unveiling of the ‘Lightdome,’ casting a mesmerizing glow across the entire enclosure with stunning creations by local and international light artists.

Have you ever marveled at the colossal glass structure within Budapest Zoo? Meet the Biodome, an indoor sanctuary designed to accommodate exotic animals. While its primary function is yet to be realized, you can explore this magnificent edifice. Currently hosting a dragon-filled Lunar New Year celebration as part of the Lantern Festival, the Biodome undergoes another transformation from March 1st to 17th, treating visitors to a new spectacle. Experience a captivating showcase of unique light art, inspired by natural wonders, enveloping the space in radiant illumination.

Local and international artists converge, infusing the venue with their visionary creations, brought to life by hundreds of intelligent lamps, projectors, and high-performance slide projectors. Crafted exclusively for the Biodome, these exceptional light and audiovisual installations promise an immersive experience, requiring approximately 1.5 hours to explore fully. Prepare to be spellbound.

Organized by COLLOC Productions, the team behind the renowned INOTA contemporary festival, and Centrum Production, the Lightdome features contributions from LaLuz Visuals, celebrated for their monumental light paintings, and internationally acclaimed light artist Karl Kola. These esteemed artists, the creative geniuses behind the artworks and installations within the Lightdome, have showcased their talents at prestigious international festivals.

The Lightdome welcomes visitors from March 1st to 17th, between 5 pm and 10 pm.
