Zsolnay Porcelain Exhibition

Explore the largest Zsolnay porcelain exhibition in the heart of the city’s Art Nouveau treasure, ResoArt Villa, located near the City Park, one of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks. This unique exhibition not only showcases the exquisite porcelains, but also offers guided tours, including in the beautifully restored Millennium House, adorned with Zsolnay ceramics.

The ResoArt Villa

a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture, was painstakingly restored to its former glory in the mid-1990s, earning prestigious architectural awards. In 2022, the building was transformed from an office into the capital’s most extensive Zsolnay exhibition, featuring a collection of 1,000 pieces that beautifully narrate the success story of Zsolnay ceramics.

With a rich history dating back to 1853, the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory is renowned globally. In this exhibition, you can admire the ‘Zsolnay philosophy,’ a captivating diversity of shapes, patterns, techniques, and colors.

Don’t miss the chance to see the most precious piece in the Zsolnay collection, a majestic 185 cm vase that once graced the Gellért Hotel, which was sold for 16 million forints (approximately €41,146) at auction.

Hungarian Art Nouveau

The ResoArt Villa, designed by Albert Kálmán Kőrössy in 1899, harmoniously fuses Hungarian Art Nouveau with international stylistic elements. Its façade is adorned with ornate details and stained glass windows depicting peacocks, lion heads, and allegorical figures, making it a true architectural gem.

As you step inside, be enchanted by the magnificent stained glass window designed by Miksa Róth, one of the masters of Hungarian Art Nouveau glass art.

Immerse yourself in the art, history, and culture of Budapest at ResoArt Villa, the heart of the Liget Budapest Project. This beautiful destination is a must-visit for those seeking a glimpse into Budapest’s rich heritage, making it an ideal spot for tourists, art lovers, and history enthusiasts alike.
